Join us on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 for our monthly meeting. Learn what the PTA does for our school, as well as ways you can partner with us to support teachers, staff, students, and our efforts. For those of you who have other commitments, we will strive to keep you informed and involved with our website, email newsletter, and on Facebook.
Sprout Restaurant Night
On Thursday, February 19th, from 4:00 - 8:00, join classmates and neighbors at Sprout Natural Choice for a restaurant night. Bring your flyer so Sprout can contribute to the PTA. And hang around for live Blues music by Ed Kaitz!
See the link below to print a flyer.

A Multicultural Literature Night
Save the date! Thursday evening, March 19th
Help us celebrate Westowne's diversity by sharing your cultural connections with us during our multicultural literature night. There are three ways in which you can be involved:
Host a Family Table
Are you from another country? Have you lived in or visited faraway places? Do you have a distinct ethnic or cultural heritage? Share your story with us by hosting a family table during our multicultural literature night. Family tables can display crafts, games, flags, packaged foods (unfortunately no homemade food), maps, clothing, pictures, books, music and more. Help us explore the world by knowing more about each other.
If you can host a family table, please email us with the following information:
* Parent/Guardian's and Student's Names
* Homeroom Teacher
* Contact Info
* Items for your table
Volunteer in the Classrooms
Like previous literature nights, we will also have stories and craft activities in the classrooms. We are hoping to have 10 classrooms staffed by volunteers (teachers and parents). You can be a lead volunteer: pick a story and craft with an international or multicultural theme. Too much responsibility for you? We also need classroom helpers. Email us if you want to lead or assist in the classroom.
Volunteer to be a Worker Bee
There will also be opportunities to help set-up, clean-up, staff Book Fair (check out Volunteer Spot) and everything else in between.
Citizen's Advisory Committees
Both the Citizen's Advisory Committee for Gifted and Talented Education (GT CAC) and the Special Education Citizen's Advisory Committee (SECAC) offer parents an opportunity to voice their ideas and concerns about these programs in BCPS schools. Westowne Elementary PTA has representatives for both committees. They advocate for our needs and help us stay informed. We add meeting dates to our calendar as they become available.
