Holiday Shoppe Volunteers Needed
We need numerous volunteers from the time of setup tomorrow afternoon, December 1st until cleanup on Thursday, December 7th. We appreciate any time you can give! To sign up, please visit the VolunteerSpot website.
Please remember to complete the quick volunteer training and application before volunteering. Details can be found online.
Holiday Shoppe
While setting up, we still welcome donations of gift items and paper or plastic shopping bags. Just bring them to the school office tomorrow or Monday.
Each class gets to visit the shop on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, December 5th-7th. Please send funds with your child on their visit day. Most items are priced $5 or less. Westowne spirit wear t-shirts in neon green and hot pink will also be available for $12 each.
Here is the class shopping trip schedule. If you do not see your child's class listed, please contact your child's teacher directly to confirm when they are visiting.
PTA Meeting
Please note that we will not have a PTA meeting this December. Save the date for the next PTA meeting on Tuesday, January 9th at 7:00. Fifth Grade Committee members and parents, please plan to attend so we can kick off the spring projects. We have a lot planned for for your big kids and need your help.
Winter Clubs
Registration forms for after school clubs will be sent home in student folders next week. We are offering Lego Robotics for 2nd-5th grade taught by parent volunteer, Lara Mellendick on Thursday afternoons. We are also offering Art History for 3rd-5th grade taught by parent volunteer, Lauren Hill on Friday afternoons. Both clubs will run from 4:00-4:45 for 6 weeks starting in early January.
Slots will be awarded to a random selection of students who have paid by the due date on the form. Students who are placed on the waiting list will have their checks returned. Students who get a slot will receive a confirmation by email before the start of the club.

Student One Cards Now Accepted at Library
Through their Student Accounts, all BCPS students are now able to borrow up to five print or audio books at one time and have access to all Baltimore County Public Library online resources. Students who visit any of the library’s 19 Baltimore County locations may check out materials by scanning a BCPS One Card or through their student identification numbers. Online resources can be accessed on bcpl.info using a student identification number.
In an effort to be as flexible as possible with young library customers, Student Account holders will not accrue late or extended-use fees. While borrowing privileges may be blocked due to unreturned items (30 days after an item is due), accounts will always offer access to online resources and databases.
