President’s Report: China Williams
1. Voted to add a line item to budget for SchoolKidz
2. Exceeded fundraising goals this year
3. $7,000 surplus will allow extra projects or reduced fundraising next year
4. Financial year ends June 30
a. All outstanding expenses need to be paid out before then
b. Expenses may not be paid again until September
5. 5th Grade Committee met fundraising goal
a. Needs to decide on gift for school ($500)
6. Drama Club lead by Mrs. Ingle and Mr. Willig next year
a. Will be added to PTA budget for next school year
b. Details to come
7. Field Day still needs volunteers
a. Possibly need to locate buckets and trash cans for water games
b. Possibly need to setup drinking water station for outdoor games
c. Needs to submit list of volunteers to Ms. McCollugh to preprint badges
Treasurer’s Report: Stacie Lauer
1. $148 for Pajama Day
a. Ms. Murray’s class won the pizza party
2. $610 final total for O’s Night
3. Paid subsidies for several field trips
Vice President’s Report: Jessica Brown
1. Box Tops
a. Total for school year: $1700
b. Mrs. Mannion’s class wins popsicle party for collecting over 1000 Box Tops
c. Suggestion for next year: “Where can you collect Box Tops from” with map posted in building
d. Summer collection sheet going home with students
e. Box Tops checks get written to Westowne Elementary
f. Directly funds school support items like agendas, folders, and awards
2. SchoolKidz
a. Complete school supply kits
b. A service for families; not a fundraiser
c. Raffling $25 prize for families who place order/s
d. Very minimal orders placed so far; may not repeat next year
Principal’s Report: Mrs. Patrick
1. Assistant Superintendent Mrs. Miller recently conducted an Instructional Audit (“Learning Walk”)
a. Will share findings with staff in the fall
b. Will guide professional development goals for faculty and staff
2. STAT devices for 1st-3rd next year
a. November or December
b. 1.0 staff position with focus on coaching teachers how to use the devices to access the curriculum in the classroom
3. Bullying Prevention training grant next year for all feeder schools for Catonsville HS, including Westowne
4. Teachers/staff who have announced that they are leaving Westowne at the end of the school year:
a. Mr. Prem (Kingsville ES)
b. Mrs. Meyers (Hillcrest ES)
c. Ms. Martilotti (moving out of state)
d. Ms. Zimmerman (switching to private practice)
e. Ms. Mizrachi (Vincent Farms ES)
5. Field Day on Friday
6. 5th Grade Recognition Ceremony held in flag field with bus loop blocked off for pedestrians
7. Construction process is moving forward
8. Redistricting process participation opportunities and meeting schedule will be shared with families
a. Each school gets principal and two chosen members on committee
b. China to share list of potential committee members with Mrs. Patrick
c. All meetings are public
d. Will circulate surveys for community input
Membership Suggestions
1. Administration could provide pull out session at Back to School Night with parent guide to IEP meetings

1. Will recognize parent volunteers in Hootie News instead of giving paper certificates
