Pajama Spirit Day
Our monthly Pajama Spirit Day is tomorrow, October 7th. This month you can show your Westowne pride with spirit wear and school colors instead or with your PJs!
Your PTA organizes Pajama Day and encourages those who can to make a donation to fund fun and educational events like Fall Fest, Literature Night and Field Day. The donation is very appreciated but entirely optional. If desired, please send cash or check made out to Westowne PTA in your student’s folder on Friday, October 7th.
The class with the most donations will get a class party at the end of the school year! The current class leaders are:
- Ms. Rotolo $60.00
- Ms. Ingle $34.80
- Ms. Cvengros $23.00
Auction and Raffle Donations Needed
Our annual Fall Festival is Saturday, October 29th from 3:00 - 6:00. Please support this event with items for the silent auction and basket raffle.
In previous years, it has worked well for families or groups of teachers to collaborate to create grade level baskets. Families can sponsor entire baskets on their own, too. Basket themes can be anything family or child-friendly. Suggestions include Minecraft, My Little Pony, Movie Night, Spaghetti Night, Tea & Cookies, Manicures & Pedicures, etc. Items should be new or in like new condition.
Fall Fest also provides an excellent opportunity to promote your business. Consultants or companies may make a donation and share their catalogs or business cards at the event. We would like to feature services provided by Westowne parents and friends, too, ranging from massages to house cleaning. We would also like to include breakfast or lunch with faculty and staff members for the students.
There are so many options! Please email with questions and ideas. Thank you!
Rewards
Check out our rewards page for all the ways you can support the PTA with just your usual shopping and dining.
Nurse Needs
Nurse Martin is in need of donations of clean, gently used, elastic waisted pants. Gender neutral colors such as gray, black, blue, etc. are preferred. Also, if anyone has borrowed pants from the nurse's office, please wash and return them ASAP.
Fall Clubs
Thanks for all the interest in our fall clubs! All clubs are completely full. Any wait listed registrations have been returned. If you are interested in helping us run clubs, especially Lego Robotics, please email us. We're happy to run as many clubs as we have volunteers to run them.
Help us keep your children safe. Please do not send your children to a club without first receiving a confirmation from the PTA via email.

Corporate Sponsors
We'd like to thank the following businesses for supporting the Westowne community this year:
Platinum Level Event Sponsor
- Focused Support, LLC
Volunteer Spotlight
As a volunteer-run, charitable organization, the PTA depends on member's time, skills, and financial contributions. This month, we'd like to thank Westowne parent, Restaurant Night Coordinator, and Assemblies Chair Erin Furth. Despite a recent move, Erin has gone above and beyond to plan restaurant nights through January, as well as book Curtis Blues for this fall and the Smithsonian Discovery Theater for this spring.
Erin, you make Westowne great. Thank you for all your help! And best of luck to your family as you transition to another part of Catonsville.

Benjamin Banneker Park Programs
Located in Catonsville on Oella Avenue, the Benjamin Banneker Historic Park and Museum offers free and low cost programs for all ages. Programs often highlight history, science, and music--like Black History topics, preschool educational events, outdoor concerts, and evening or weekend hikes to discover owls and meteorites. Their Facebook page offers the most comprehensive list of their programs. Some events require pre-registration, which can be done by calling them directly.
