Drama Club Thanks
The Drama Club's Wizard of Oz was a great success! Westowne's students shined both on stage and backstage. The costumes and sets were fantastic. Mr. Palmer and Ms. McBride even made hilarious cameo appearances.
We'd like to thank everyone who brought this experience to Westowne. Thank you Drama Club teachers (Mrs. Ingle, Mr. Willig, Ms. Pettit, Ms. Bill, and student directors Ethan Pound and Emelie Ingle) and costume and set designers (Jessica Tartal, Laura Blank, the Ingle family, the Horch family, and the Nyland family) for bringing this wonderful opportunity to our children. Thanks also to the parents who volunteered to help run the show and to sell concessions and spirit wear. Thanks to Sir Speedy BWI/Columbia for the t-shirts. And thanks again to Rob McIver Photo.
We also want to thank our community for the enthusiasm and support! Next year's Drama Club promises to be even better than the first.
PTA Board Updates
Your PTA board is comprised of four individuals who are elected to serve a two year term. This coming May, elections will be held to vote for the board that will serve starting next school year. We're happy to announce that four members have come forward to run for these positions. Additionally, the Nominations Committee, comprised of Chair Jessica Brown, Becky Bass, and Hope Riley, has endorsed their candidacy:
President: Justine Stull
Vice President: Sarah Fondelier
Treasurer: Stacie Lauer

Send your kids to school in their PJs on Friday, February 19th. Students may join in on the fun by wearing their pajamas or other clothing inside out. Families may make an optional donation to support the PTA and compete to win an end of year class party.
Families are invited back to school that evening for Movie Night. We're sticking with the theme and showing Inside Out (PG). Admission is free, and bring blankets to picnic in the gym. We will have pizza, snacks, and drinks for sale. Concession sales benefit the 5th Grade Committee. Doors open at 6:00; the show starts at 6:30.
Save the date! Hot Skates will open just for Westowne families and friends.
