Book Fair
The PTA sponsored Scholastic Book Fair runs March 17th - 19th. Every student will get a shopping trip during that week, followed by a family shopping opportunity that Thursday evening at Literature Night. You can support this literacy promotion event in many ways:
- Send your children prepared to buy books on their scheduled days. Those dates will be sent home closer to the event. When budgeting for the purchase, please be aware that Scholastic charges sales tax.
- Sign up to pitch in during Book Fair. It takes a small army of volunteers giving a couple hours here and there to make it happen. There are several slots still open, including cashiers during Literature Night. We'll give you a quick on the job training, and you'll be ready to go even if you haven't done it before.
- Join us for Literature Night on March 19th from 6:00 - 9:00 for multicultural stories, crafts, food and entertainment. While the event is free for students and their families, there will be food and books for sale.
Advocate for Education
The Maryland PTA is encouraging voters to ask their senators and delegates to fully fund education. Educate yourself on the issues and send your own letters to your representatives. This website provides the details on this issue, as well as quickly generates an email using your address.
