Pajama Spirit Day
Our monthly Pajama Spirit Day is tomorrow, January 6th. This month you can show your Westowne pride by wearing the color of your pod instead of or with your PJs!
Your PTA organizes Pajama Day and encourages those who can to make a donation to fund fun and educational events like Literature Night and Field Day. The donation is very appreciated but entirely optional. If desired, please send cash or check made out to Westowne PTA in your student’s folder on Friday, January 6th.
The class with the most donations will get a class party at the end of the school year! The current class leaders are:
- Ms. Jones $112
- Ms. Rotolo $103
- Ms. Durm $68.50
January PTA Meeting
Join us on Thursday, January 12th at 7:00. Please note the day of the week has been switched for this month to accommodate another school event. We'll discuss all the exciting events coming up this spring, including our Maryland Science Center Family Night and Skate Night. Fifth Grade Committee members, please plan to attend so we can kick off the spring projects. The meeting is held in the library, so enter the building through the courtyard at the rear of the school building.
PTA Thanks
Thanks to the many who pitched in to help us wrap up 2016 with Holiday Shoppe, Cookies & Cards, and a catered Holiday Luncheon for all the faculty and staff.
Also thanks to those who supported the PTA's end of year giving campaign. Thanks to the generous donations from the Bass, Hall, Ptaszek, and Rollins families, combined with the company match, we raised $620!
We'd like to thank the following businesses for supporting the Westowne community this school year:
Platinum Level Event Sponsor
- Focused Support, LLC
Every Student Succeeds Act
The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) is a new federal law that has replaced No Child Left Behind. In order to be effective, ESSA needs you.
Please watch this short introductory video from the Teachers Association of Baltimore County about ESSA and then complete a very brief anonymous survey about suggested accountability measures to implement in Baltimore County's ESSA Plan. The survey is open only through Saturday, the 7th.
Help shape ESSA for Baltimore County now. It takes only a few minutes to make your voice heard.
