All kindergarten through 5th grade students get to participate in this Westowne tradition tomorrow. Please remember to send your child prepared:
- wearing class colors over a swimsuit
- with a full, reusable water bottle
- wearing water-safe, closed toed shoes
- coated in sunscreen, with a hat if desired
- with a towel and change of clothes and shoes
A special thanks to Mr. Prem for bringing this tradition to Westowne! And thanks to Westowne parent Jesse Florida for coordinating the volunteers and all the teachers and staff who make this day happen.
Tomorrow is the final day to place your order online, using account number 8132. Every family who places an order will be entered into a raffle for $25.
Order your complete back-to-school supply kits now, and your child's teacher-requested, name brand supplies will arrive in time for next school year. This program is not a fundraiser but a service to help you save time getting ready for next school year. All kits will be delivered to the school in August for parent pickup.
BoxTops for Education
Congrats to Ms. Mannion's class for collecting the most Box Tops this school year! They collected 1055 and earned a popsicle party to celebrate. Overall this year we exceeded our $1300 goal and collected over $1700 worth of Box Tops for Education. These funds allow the school to provide agendas and folders, as well as awards, for students. Great work, Westowne!
Keep collecting over the summer with the attached collection sheet. Turn it in at the beginning of next school year for a chance to win a prize.
To keep you informed regardless of whether you are free on Tuesday evenings, we share the notes from the monthly PTA meetings. Check out our blog. The notes from this week's meeting will be posted soon.
Dates to Remember

Teachers, if you haven't done so already, send us your reimbursement requests. Don't have receipts from your purchases this year? Do some shopping for next year over the weekend! As long as you have receipts (email confirmations qualify), we can honor them.

For generations, the term of endearment, "Hon," has been used to express warmth and affection by Baltimore's mothers and grandmothers. Located in the neighborhood of Hampden, HonFest celebrates the working women who helped make this city great. Since 1994, HonFest has grown from a tiny Baltimore's Best Hon pageant behind Café Hon, to a nationally recognized festival that covers four city blocks on 36th Street.
