Please join our next PTA meeting on Tuesday, March 28th at 7:00. Join special guests from AMS PTA and CMS PTSA as they introduce us to their middle school programs. We will also look forward to the spring, including 5th Grade Committee plans, spring clubs, and Teacher Appreciation Week. We wil not meet again until May. The meeting is held in the library, so please enter the building through the courtyard at the rear of the school. Thank you!

Chef P. Restaurant Day
Next Wednesday, March 29th, Chef Paolino's is hosting a restaurant day for our PTA. Dine in or carry out family-friendly Italian food anytime that day, 11:00 – 10:00. Please bring your flyer so a portion of your check will be donated to Westowne PTA. Your support funds educational and entertaining events like Literature Night and Field Day.

4th of July Parade Float
Last summer, many of you noticed that other area elementary schools participated in the Catonsville parade, but Westowne did not a have a float. The good news is the PTA has set aside funds to participate this year, has chosen a theme (The Lion King, Jr!), and have several offers for a truck and trailer.
The tricky part? We need someone to take on this project. If you love Catonsville's 4th of July celebration and want to make sure Westowne is in the parade this year, please let us know.

Book Fair this year wasn't our smoothest on record, but we took the bumps in stride. Many thanks to Westowne parents, Melody Higgins, Megan Shawker, and Ashley Kragler. You guys are pros. And thank you to all the other parents and teachers who teamed up to make it successful. You guys make Westowne great.

Lunchroom Volunteers
Volunteers are needed to help teach the students how to separate their trash from their recycling, Monday through Friday, 11:15-2:00. Please contact Ms. Getsinger if you can help.
Earth Hour
Earth Hour is a worldwide initiative to turn off electricity for an hour and positively impact our planet through conservation of resources. Westowne is hosting its own Earth Hour tomorrow, Friday, March 24. From 2:30- 3:30, students will go electricity-free in the classroom. We hope participation at school will spill over into participation at home during the Saturday worldwide event.
Preschool, Pre-K, and K Round Up
Westowne will host Pre-school, Pre-kindergarten, and Kindergarten Round Up on Thursday, April 6th and Friday, April 7th so that families may register their incoming students.
