Pajama Day & Movie Night
Tomorrow, Friday, May 12th, all students can show their school pride by wearing their PJs to school. This month, our pajama alternative is Island Vacation! Dress like you’re heading to a party on the beach. Please remember to wear shoes and shirts.
And then plan to join us tomorrow evening for the last pizza and movie night this school year. See Moana (PG), a family friendly adventure about a girl who saves her island community. Admission is free. Bring blankets to picnic in the gym. We will have pizza, drinks, and snacks for sale. Doors open at 6:00, and the movie starts around 6:30.

Grounds Update
Contractors will be working on the storm water management ponds near the parking lot starting today. Please expect some rerouting and blocked parking spots over the next couple weeks.
Please use extra care during drop off and pick up. Great effort will be made to minimize the impact on the car loop. However, families are welcome to park along Harlem Lane and walk their children into the front door.
Have you helped out at school this year? If so, you are cordially invited to Westowne's annual Volunteer Tea on Wednesday, June 7th from 2:00 - 3:00. Please RSVP to Ms. Robey by Wednesday, May 17th, and plan to arrive a little early with your photo ID. Just check in at the office before heading to the cafe.
Field Day
Save the date! On Monday, June 5th, Westowne will host a fun-filled day of games, water play, PTA sponsored snowballs, and more. The rain date is Tuesday, June 6th. Families are invited to volunteer for their child's classroom and come join the fun.
Complete the volunteer sign up and turn it in to the PTA in your child's folder. Contact parent volunteer coordinator, Jesse Florida, with questions.

This school year we have submitted $882.80 worth of Box Tops for Education. Thank you to everyone for your submissions! We have a few more weeks to go, so please keep clipping.
Box Tops can be submitted in envelopes, zip top bags, or attached to collection sheets. Collection sheets are optional and do not need to be complete to be sent in to school. Send in your Box Tops by the end of May to have them count towards your classroom’s total for the school year. Don’t forget to label it with your homeroom teacher, too.

Upworthy Thanks
One of Westowne's 5th grade teachers, Mr. Willig, tweeted about the Teacher Appreciation Week festivities last week. Upworthy included his tweet in a recent article and captioned it, "A Baltimore-area school won the day by treating its teachers to the greatest gift of all: free pizza."
And we think we have the best teachers, Mr. Willig!
