Schwan's Cares
Time is running short for this campaign. Please support the 5th Grade Committee while filling holes in your pantry. Choose your delivery date and time, and Schwan's delivers it right to your door.
Grocery purchases contribute 20% now through the end of this week. No time to place an order? Gift certificates contribute 40% and make an gift or may be used to place a future order. Thank you!

Boundary Committee
The Southwest Area Boundary Committee had its fourth meeting last night. Information and the meeting videos may be found online. If you find the BSPS/Cropper maps difficult to view, try this series of maps Westowne parent Matt McKnight has created.
Last night, maps A - G were presented, and the committee reviewed the options for the best case scenario for each school. Options F and G were chosen as the clear leaders for Westowne and include all of our existing population, along with an additional neighborhood currently zoned for Catonsville Elementary. Use this website or this email address to provide suggestions and positive feedback directly to BCPS about the proposed boundary maps. Make sure your voice is heard.
In order for parents and community members to provide feedback to Westowne's Boundary Committee representatives (community member Chris Burk, parent Kecia Johnson, Ms. Musacchio, and Principal Palmer), we have created a devoted email address: westowneboundary@gmail.com. Please remember these kind folks are working hard for our community.
The next Boundary Committee meeting will be held Wednesday, November 11th at 6:00 at Catonsville High School. Only committee representatives may participate at this meeting, but community members should definitely attend to observe and demonstrate stakeholder interest.
Holiday Shoppe Donations Needed
Our beloved Holiday Shoppe is coming December 8 to 10. We need donated items that students can buy as low-cost gifts for their families.
Consider donating the following: used toys, coffee mugs, re-gifted gifts, neckties, dad gifts (always in short supply), spa products, and other gently used gift items cluttering your basement. Are you crafty? Turn your artistic skills into donated Holiday Shoppe gifts and we’ll sing your praises. Please, no glassware; it doesn't survive the bus trip home.
Donations can be put in the “well” in front of the bulletin board in the lobby. Thanks so much for participating in this popular program. It is one of our most successful fundraisers and the kids have a blast. Questions or ideas? Please let us know.
Light the Night
Light the Night is the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's fundraising and awareness walk. Join 4th grader Braydon and his mom, Kristal on Saturday, November 14th. The walk starts at Camden Yards at 4:30 PM.
Westowne is eager for Braydon to come back to school when he's well enough! In the meantime, show your support by walking with his team or donating to the LLS.
Class Directories
Have you signed up to be a part of the class directories? In order to send or receive party invitations from classmates, please sign up. If you haven't already, use this form to provide your information. If we didn't read your writing accurately, please make corrections using this form, too. Class directories have already been circulated, but we'll run another list with additions and corrections in about a month.
Movie Night
Join us for a pizza and movie night. See the original Wizard of Oz--the movie that inspired the Westowne Drama Club’s upcoming performance! Admission is free. Bring blankets to picnic in the gym. We will have cheese and pepperoni pizza, drinks, and snacks on sale.
Friday, November 6th in the gym
6:00 for pizza dinner; 6:30 show time
*Common Sense Media says this is one of the best family movies ever made but suggests it for ages 6+. Parents, please use your discretion, particularly for preschoolers.
Chuck E. Cheese's Night
On Friday, November 13th, Chuck E. Cheese’s will contribute 15% of all food, merchandise, and token purchases to your PTA. There's no school that day, so bring your families to the 5912 Baltimore National Pike location anytime from 3:00 until 9:00. Flyers will be sent home with all the details and special event coupons for dinner and tokens. Please mention Westowne PTA at the register.
Teachers get a free pizza or salad bar with a drink, and a trip into the Ticket Blaster, with their school ID. So Westowne faculty and staff, we'd love to see you there!

Costumes on Friday
Students may wear costumes to school tomorrow. When deciding what to wear, think about what works for the school day. Keep it simple. Please leave anything messy (like face paint), anything too large (like wings), and accessories (like masks, hats, "weapons," and tools) at home for this weekend.
