Letter Dear Westowne Faculty and Staff,
Welcome back to school! And for those of you just joining our community, welcome to Westowne. We look forward to working with you to promote family involvement and educational enrichment for all of Westowne’s students. We would like to share our plan for the coming school year.
Teacher Reimbursements
This year we are offering $75 in reimbursements to teachers and resource staff for the purchase of educational materials and supplies. Simply fill out the disbursement form on the back of this letter with original, itemized receipts and stick it in the PTA safe in the school office. Disbursements for this fiscal year will be accepted September through June.
Classroom Supplies & Volunteers
Need tissues, baggies, or items for a class project? Are you in need of extra hands to cut and copy? Need to find a room parent to help organize special classroom events? Let us know, and we’ll send out a call to our members. You are also welcome to join the Westowne Elementary Community Forum on Facebook where you can make requests directly.
Professional Development
The PTA has budgeted a total of $1000 to cover the registration costs for professional trainings. We will cover up to $500 in registration costs per person and it is a first come, first serve program. First, drop us a line (westownepta@gmail.com) so we, along with the administration, can preapprove the course. We’ll then have you pay the registration fee directly and fill out a disbursement form so that we can cut a check directly to you.
PTA Membership
We invite all teachers to become members of the PTA. Be part of the conversation. Your involvement and input is crucial to the PTA’s success. Membership is $8 for an individual or $12 for family (two adults) and a form may be found online at www.westownepta.com.
Field Trips
Our budget continues to cover $5 per student in subsidies for field trips.
